Practitioners use rhodonite when a death or loss is complicated, when there is unfinished business, when forgiveness is required of the self or of someone else.

Aquamarine, larimar, and moonstone are the soft blue and white stones associated with emotional flow. They are the ones to reach for when grief has become stuck, when tears that should be coming are not, or when the same loop of memory will not move. Carry one stone, apache tear is the traditional choice, rose quartz is the gentler one, in a pocket. When the grief surges, hold the stone in your palm and breathe out for the length of three slow heartbeats. Do not try to solve anything. The stone is a place for your hand to be when the rest of the world does not know what to do for you.

Place apache tear or rose quartz in your dominant hand. Sit somewhere quiet. Breathe out long and slow. Allow whatever wants to surface to surface, without naming it, without explaining it. Do this for five minutes a day during a season of grief. End by setting the stone somewhere you will see it tomorrow.
